Real R-Type?

Ok, there apears to be a real R-Type in town... there is a student on campus here with what apears to be a true R-Type... its low to the ground with a kick *** GFX kit... there is no wing and it has a true 3" exhaust with just a standard tip (not some 5" chrome POS) The sound is very deep and literally shakes the ground like a 15 inch subwoofer (definitely not just tuned exhaust) and its got multi-spoked 19? inch rims whith a red graphic (think it was an H) on the middle caps... there are a few japanese badges where it would say civic... no other stickers.

So does this sound like a real R-Type or do you think it's some custom speed shop deal? It has to be the best job I've seen done to a civic, and I could tell it would fly off the line just seeing it under moderate acceleration... Does anybody have a pic of a real R-Type? please post a pic if you have one.

A real Type-R has a few distinctions:

1. Type-R's tach has an 8400 RPM redline.
2. Type-R head rests have the centers cut out.
3. Type-Rs have 5 lug rims, not 4.
4. Type-R dashes have carbon fiber accents.
5. Type-Rs came from the factory in only 3 colors: competition white, yellow, and black.

Don't count on emblems or "Type-R" badges becasue those can easily be put on.

This one was dark turquois... and I didn't see any Type-R sticker (didn't catch a good glimpse of the back). But it did look like some special japanese edition...

most likely the corner shop rice special. Stickers are the cheapest mod of all. That is why even if I think Im gonna get killed I always give it my best...9 times out of 10 the engine remains stock aside from the cat back exhaust, and a few chrome pieces. To this day not one import has managed to beat me on the street. I run 15's and still beat all the boy racers in their integras and civics...but at the track I have lost by over 3 seconds to rice. I guess there are a lot of guys who wanna look cool, and a few with the money to back it up.
peace

The best tip of that its not a real Type-R is this, Type-R's are Acura Integras, not honda civics.

They made a Civic Type-R in Japan. I HIGHLY doubt that's a Civic Type-R, unless that guy bought it in Japan, then imported it.

Real Civic Type-R's are fast little buggers.

I really wouldn't call the car rice, because the only stickers I saw were the two japanese badges on the trunk where the words honda and civic would be... and there was no spoiler, the driver was aisian and it really looked like a fast car... the sound was of pure power not the typical fart tip dip****

acura integera type r's are bull**** according to on of my import friends.....they only make type-r's in japan and japan doesnt have an acura(duh..acura=american honda) so a real type-r integra would be a HONDA integra not ACURA...jus a littel tid bit for all those "type-r" intagras you see out there

I do not blame stupid people for being stupid, what i do blame them for is for not asking smart people for advice. When ever my mom asks for help, i tell her, i'm the one who knows what he's doing, not you, don't question me, just do what i tell you to. if stupid people would just realize they were stupid, and consult a smart person for advice, before they went and did something stupid and got pregnant/got someone pregant, this ****hole of a world would be a lot better. - adam corola

actually thats wrong. The Type-R integra is imported to the US. 2 per dealership per year. thats it.
The car NOT imported to the US is the SiR honda, any model. The Si is available, just not the SiR.

so to recap:
Si, yes
Type-R, yes
SiR- no

and thats a fact, jack

LOL I just saw the stupidest ***** ever! There was an 80's Civic hatchback with a GFX kit that could have been made better by monkeys... it was basically 4 pieces of plastic glued to the bottom of the stock bumpers and a grille mesh hacked into the rear portion... with a square hole cut out in the rear "GFX" with a square piece of metal that didn't match at all, surrounding a 3" tail pipe. The funniest thing was the double racing stripe up the rear winshield over the roof and down the hood and a type R sticker where the civic emblem once was. The H emblems were also replaced with the R emblem... at least he was only trying to impersonate one type of performance pakage hehe.
