this guy i know has a modded 98 maxima, hes really ****y, tellin me his car is slow and is not worth his time to race, his car is stick also, my car is bone stock, but im adding a open element k&n filter this weekend and new valve covers. his best time is 16.4, althought ive never done a ¼, my stock ¼ time is 15.7 (that was 12 years ago thought) do i have a chance to beat him?? i really want to blow his doors off?

if he's only pulling a 16.4 in a 98 5-speed Maxima he can't drive worth sh*t! If you get traction you might take him..it'll be close though

Hmmm, I don't really think it would be a hands down win for you. Maxima's can be annoyingly fast for a four door, front wheel drive.
The open air element is a good place to start, but make sure the car is in good tune (cap, rotor, wires, timing, fuel system) as extra insurance.
