ok guys, there's my mid to high 13 sec thirdgen, i dont want it to be my driver, but i dont want a garage queen either. so i figure once in a while driving. now im thinkin, should i build my 72 camaro, in need of much work, as a street strip car, tlkin high 11's or better, or should i build 52 buick into aa driver wityh some serious muscle, no less than 500 horsies, or should i just rebuild my sentra nd keep the mileage for my commute? and if the camaro is choice, how about this setup:
383 forged and balanced rotating assembly
10.5:1
edelbrock victor heads, ported and polished
rpm airgap mnifold
850 carb- edelbrock or race demon?
3 inch exhaust, true duals with x pipe
hooker long tubes
street strip cam
k and n
ram air custom made hood
possibly a 100 shot
th400, 328 gears, 2400 stall converter, carbon driveshaft, fiberglass front clip, nittos or maybe et streets
gutted interior, with race seats
possibly lexan instead of windshield and rear window
any guesses on et's with the combo above?

If I could pick any SBC to put in my thirdgen, it would be the American Speed 383. It is featured in Chevy High Performance's May issue. In thier simulated test Nova (3,500 lbs, 3.07 gear, and no tire spin) it did 12.1 @ 113. Strap on a 100 shot and you pretty much win on the street. I would guess very low 11's at 120+. The crate motor costs $4,325 and has forged pistons with Aluminum Edelbrock RPM heads. It puts out 425 hp@5,300 rmp and 490ft/lbs at 3,900 rpm. This motor is making me seriously consider a small block.

To answer you question; if you gutted your car and had et streets, high 11's wouldn't be out of the question.
