need alittle help (4th gen)

after think it over i think it is time to sell the 91. lately i've seen high selling prices for 3rd gens, and lowered for 4th, so now is the time.....
anyways: I'm looking into a 94 with a cowl hood, and a 96, both are z28 and both have 6 speeds, I've found a couple cites with stock times, but they vary a lot, I was hoping you guys could help me settle this one.

------------------

street kills: New v-6 stang, 96 v6 camaro, totally killed '86 SC Camaro (305), 91 z 28 with 305

I'd have to agree
Low 14's from a 6 speed car, stock. Small mods should put you in the high 13 second range. Large mods = watch out!!

If I were you I'd hold on to the 91 (if its a L98 car it should run 14's anyway) for a little bit longer if you can. Wait until you can afford a '98+ with a LS1. Stock they run mid/low 13's. Small mods = 12's
Large mods = D@MN FAST!!!

My friend has a 98 with stock bottom end, heads/cam changed and nitrous. He runs 10.5X's on the spray.

peace

the 96 is built better than the 94, little things like less squeeking, and fixed some problems with opti-spark. You can always buy a fiberglass ram-air/cowl hood.

I second what 85transamtpi said. Before I bought my 2000 I had a 96 Trans Am and was somewhat pleased with it (14.27@96 bone stock) but when I got the 2000 it was a completly different story. If you wont be racing it the 96's are cool, but if you want a fast car w/o having to mod too heavily I'd get a LS1.

An LT1 is still a very large threat to the LS1 it just takes a little more $$. I wouldn't take any LS1 over an LT1 but thats my personal opinion. I just picked up a 1994 Z28 Auto with 43,004 miles on it. At the track most Stock LS1's run 13.5-14.2 And LT1's run 14-14.7. Do not flame here this is at the local track and all drivers here aren't perfect. My friends 1994 Z28 had these mods: SLP cold air, air foil, Flowmaster and he ran very constant 13.9's

yes i have a 94 z28 LT1. i have also driven a 99 formula LS1. i think both are very potent cars. the reason i bought the LT1 instead of the LS1 is because of insurance and the continuing drop on price. 98+ cars still are holding value. i bought mine for 6500. and i wouldnt trade it for anything( well maybe a Z06 or porsche )
