Took my GTA out to Julian yesterday. A blue Subaru WRX pulled up next to me at a stoplight on the highway. Up ahead the two lanes merged into one so I knew the race was on. I knew with my 315 Nittos and 4.11 posi I could probably dump it hard off the line. The light went green and I launched it hard, pulling about 2 cars on him. 2nd and 3rd gear were a blur but I was powershifting my built up T56. When we hit 60MPH I could see him in my rear view and I let off the gas, beating him to the single lane merge!

No idea my HP #'s, as I just got this engine built, but probably mid 300s. Standard 355 build with 10.5:1 compressions, AFR heads, roller cam, headers, intake, runners..

Those cars aren't anything serious anyway. I'd venture to say a 300hp car would hang by a wrx

I've raced two 2012 wrx cars with a 13.6 z28 and beat them. And a 300 horse 3rd gen would run faster then that

Power shifting from 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and you shut down at only 60-mph?

Yeah, I'm not bragging, as I would have been very embarassed to lose to him. A stock 3rd gen would probably get spanked though.

Also, alot of Subaru guys are modders so you never know what they have. Only takes a couple grand to get those cars well into the 12s (like TTA's)

Ya my friend has a 95 STI that he imported and it was very light and fast. 2600 lbs I think it is even with AWD. I have no doubt it would have run low 13s at least even completely stock. However he blew up the engine probably from bouncing it off the rev limiter too much doing AWD doughnuts haha. Put a rod through the block.
