Okay so i have a 3200lb 1986 z28 camaro 425-450hp at the crank so 375-400 to the wheels, im getting a 3.73 rear diff gear ratio what do you guys think i would run im hoping to be in the 7's in a 1/8 mile i have 275/60/15 on the back of my car also, and just got a built transmission 700R4 built for 550hp and put in, and if anyone knows how i post pictures i will i just need to know how

 

Lower mid 7's if it does 1.5 60 fts

 

You should be good to run close to mid to high 7s in the 1/8 and 11.5-11.8 in the 1/4 if it hooks and doesn't break anything.Let us know once you put it on the track. Until then its just a guessing game.

 

Thanks guys now i am also wondering what do you guys think it will do with its stock 2.43 rear diff gear ratio and what really would be better a 3.43 or a 3.73 because i think the 3.73 might cause to much slip with even tho i have 275's on there, but will the 3.73 be good because i am going to be getting difrent tires that will be about a 305 in the rear, agian thanks guys yall are really helping me out cause i really want to know what ill do but i always have work when drag racing is happening also the day i take it out to the track ill make sure to tell yall what i run by the way i got that reaction time down 0.003 😄 and i have a 2100rpm stall converter if that makes a diffrence because thats what id be launching at

 

Haha yea lets hope i dont break anything i think i need to add some support to my car like a cross bar over the engine (cat remember name) or something but as soon as i run it ill let ya know what i do, and hoping on getting a supercharger soon with about 5lbs of boost 😄 what do ya think that would make me run?

 

By the way guys im asking all this because im trying to beat my dad in his c6 z51 with a tune ram air and nitrous he is hoping to run in the 6's probably with a 125 shot but im gonna have him race me once without nitrous and i just wana beat him without nitrous and ill be happy haha but thanks guys for all the help hope i aint asking to much, by the way yea im only 17 but i wanted to hoapfully ask alot of people that have been with cars their whole life for their opinion

 

3.42 gears would be sufficient. As for beating your dad...You could do it but you will spend a small fortune doing it and you will probably tear S%^&*( up trying it. Should never be ashamed of getting beat by a vette. Hell my wifes Altima could outrun me but I don't give a ****. It doesn't look, sound as good, or turn the heads mine does.

 

As long as its not a really old vette they are fast as hell and his c6 with all that runs really fast so idk if itll be to easy and im a kid so aint got a fortune
