2.8 V6 vs V6 cougar

Car: 2004 Nissan 350Z
Engine: 3.5 V6
Transmission: 5 speed auto
2.8 V6 vs V6 cougar
This guy I know has a 2000 cougar V6 5speed 2.5 dohc 170 hp and 165 tq. Whats are my chances? I have a 2.8 automatic with a flowmaster and gutted air box with K&N's.

I would say he would prolly take you
those cars put out what looks to be more power then you and also have a lot lower gears I am sure as most import cars run a 3.90 or higher since they have the revs to back it up
also with a slushbox on a car that doesn't have much power to start with is not going to help you out any. though you prolly have a better chance to get a good launch out
though things you have going for you is his car is FWD so he might just sit and spin or bog at the line. and also could miss a shift. he should spank you though but doubt that you would win
ok so got off my *** and took a look and from what I found out looks like R&T rated them at 0-60 in 7.8 and the 1/4 in 16 at 86.0
they tip the scales at 3013-3201 lb

Thanks for the info and numbers. I think I'll still race him because he's 16 and doesn't know jack about cars and he's only been driving for a few months. There is a good chance he will spin his tires or miss a shift.
