hit the track on Sat...playin on the highway on the way home

Hey everyone
I got to the track on saturday to get some stock times for my '98 t/a. Heres a copy of the slip.

r/t....509
60'..2.05
1/8..8.75
1/4..13.56
mph..102.68

The track wasnt prepped very well at all. They said it was too cold in the morning to scrape all the rubber (from last year) off the line/box. So as we heated up the track the rubber started comming up in chunks. Everyone was struggling with traction, myself included. The car is BONE stock (down to paper air filter).

Now for some street racing content

On the way back from the track, a fox body LX mustang (who was also at the track) wanted to play on the highway. His car was faster than mine in the 1/4 (13.3's) but on the highway I got him. He looked over and hit it, I followed. I made up the ground and got in front of him. I KNOW he was trying...(open headers) I guess LS1 autos just do better at higher speeds.

Later
Doug

sounds sweet man. I wish I could afford a newer camaro SS or WS6 and the insurance for it.

A .509 reaction time isn't .500 perfect, so that's pretty damn good I guess, huh?
Yeah, LS1s kick butt in the upper rpms.

Im no slouch driver...

But seeing how it was my first time staging up with this car, luck might have played a small role in the r/t
