The Jamex bar is IN the car
After drilling the holes the Jamex bar bolted in no sweat. I thought it would be alot harder but thx to AcceldZ's instructions it took less than one hour to do. (AcceldZ -- I'll buy you a beer at GB weekend). Really straight forward.
Haven't been able to take it out for a spin on some twisties yet (I am baby sitting tonight) but I'll post some comments tomorrow.
It should be interesting. AcceldZ couldn't tell the difference with his so I am wondering if it will be the same on mine ? Well for $50 total it is an interesting looking piece atleast...
Oh yeah, what about those 'wonderbar' pieces ? Has anyone installed one of those ? What do they look like (in case I already have one and just don't know it ?).
thx,
RP.

Two bars, i think 1/2 diam and a 3/4 diam with two brackets that bolt up the front of the fram just under the sway bar. Ive got it and my sway bar is 1 1/2 diam. I coudn't find a bushing for this size so i made one my self. Good thing im a machinist hehehhhe comes in handy alot.
Actually only one bar, but yes it does go under the sway bar. I've got an extra one sitting around. Paul Hughes has first dibs on it, but if he doesn't take it it's yours. I still have to talk prices with Paul.

It was part of the IROC package but that's all that I know of. I don't think the GTAs came with them, but I could be wrong. If Paul doens't want it then I'll let you know and you can make me an offer.

can't tell the difference
Well after taking some pretty serious corners I'd have to say I can't tell that the strut brace is in place. Not sure what difference to expect and subjective as it is -- I can't tell any difference.
I think it would be good to have if I ever rolled over or got beaned in the fender ? It looks great when you open the hood and it was fun to install. And it only cost a few bucks. Cheap thrill.
Wouldn't suggest anyone else get one. Talked to a speed shop in the US some months back and the guy said they do not build strut braces for 3rd gens stating that "they (3rd gens) do not deflect in the strut towers so they (strut braces) serve no useful purpose". Well I had to find out for myself. The unit-bodies may twist but the strut towers are pretty strong after all.
live-and-learn eh ?

Palric, http://www.globalwest.net sells a "wonderbar" knock off. Actually, from what I have seen they are beefier than the GM version. They are also cheaper (about $45) than what some of those lunatics are paying for the old GM version on E-bay.
