Hi all,
Just moved to the GTA from out in the Wild West and was wondering if anybody knows some good sources for parts for my 89 Firebird. I have stumbled across Paradise Alley but they are too commercial for some of the stuff I need. The wreckers either don't have or they are picked over.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Scott and welcome to the board. What part of the GTA are you in ? What part of out west are you from ? I am a transplant also (Vancouver) living in Kitchener and enjoying the open roads.

What kind of parts are you looking for ? After-market will get you a different kind of advice than OEM -- as far as sources go. I think most on this board agree that Paradise Alley pricing can be a little higher but they do inventory hard to find stuff.

I am originally from Oakville and now I am back here. I was out in Calgary for the past year or so where I picked up my Firebird. Doesn't have the effects of road salt and is in great shape. The part that I most seek is a good set of leather seats(gray). You don't know anybody on the board parting out do you??
Good to be here and I get to K/W about once a month as my parents live there so maybe we can hook up sometime.

Welcome to the board, Scott. As for meeting up, we are in the process of arranging a meet in the next week or two. If you want to come out, you are more than welcome. It's always good to see new faces. Check out my post "Kitchener Meet?"
As for parts, you may want to contact 87GTA57L. He posted about getting parts for guys on the board. He also has posted about parting out an '89GTA. I know that the car was black on black. He might have something for you.

Well I've had some talks with PA. Normally I order my stuff out of the states or go on E-bay as when expedited by UPS, may cost a bit more to ship, but no special UPS brokerage fees etc which are the real jack up pricing. So I usually can get it cheaper that route, but after some talks with the guys there, they are willing to beat the pricing I do on parts from the states for anything. I'll do some trial runs for some parts and see how it turns out. If it works out ok, we can get better deals on newer parts... as for the older parts, they took them mostly already...
