As if owning a thirdgen doesn't give police enough reason to follow you, pull you over and write 'excessive noise' tickets. Just imagine what they'd do if they happened to discover something like this - ouch. (Not like it'd happen if you were really careful but I think this is borderline legal if at all). Still it would be really cool for all those jerks who like to cut you off etc. It would be pretty tough to run your plate for street racing if they saw you too!

hair spray
When I was in B.C. photo radar was the rage. Got nabbed just like everyone else. Then I read about the Clairol Hair spray trick. It seems that the chemicals/materials in the spray mess with the light from the strobe used by the camera to pick up your plate.
So it was common practice to spray your plate after each car wash. Later I heard of all kinds of materials being sprayed, glued, attached to plates to beat the dread photo radar (did you know you could pick up several tickets in one day and not know it ?). They actually made some kind of amendment to the motor vehicle laws to prevent people from 'spraying' their plates. *uckerhead gov't.
I can't say how well it worked or not I can say I didn't get any more photo radar tickets in the mail (hey they were $175 a pop) then I moved out here. The 407 uses strobes I wonder if this trick would work ? Have to try it sometime.

That license plate cover is amazing! honestly this thing is getting ordered pre-springtime putting car on the road... I can think of many worthwhile uses!
I cant really see it being illegal with the traffic act (assuming you leave it on clear). But like sinoed said I could see cops bugging people with it installed if they felt like it...
They make these license plate cover you cant see in at an angle (like a ticket camera would be).
Whats up with the 407 anyway? Arnt taxes supposed to cover road fees? I would be kinda pissed if they did that in ottawa.
