Well I took mine off today to get repainted over the winter hibernation and I was wondering if I could remove the bumper for weight reduction... just a thought.. But I think I could use the weight in the back anyway...

 

Hey Gerrit, sorry i haven't got back to you about the bumper cover. I haven't dropped my camaro off yet to get it painted yet.

I'd leave the rebar on. I had the one off my 86 TA and I would think it didn't weigh any more than 10lbs. Its very light. Its also a bitch to get off. Most of the carrige bolts spun when i took mine out, and i had to cut them all off. It would have gone better if i had torches to cut the bolts off.
