Drag Shocks vs Bilstiens
Hey Guys,
I said I would post this plot of a test I performed of the original Bilstien rear shocks (86 IROC) vs set of Lakewood adjustable drag shocks (labled ARVIN) for the 3 different adjustments.
You can easily see the differences.
Compression Forces are on the bottom, rebound (extension) are on the top. The drag shocks are much stiffer in compression, and weaker in rebound, especially at low speeds.
Just as a note, the Bilstiens have about 195000Kms on them, look how closely the forces match! They are in great shape, and still have 250 psi of gas charging in them (calculated from the offset at 0 velocity).
I have yet to try these things at the track.
