Phewww.... I thought you lost your car Easy!
I was often wondering how I would react if my Zed was stolen? I thought about getting an alarm but what good would it do if the car disappears regardless? I park way underground behind tons of concrete.
I'm considering getting a Boomerang system which tracks cars similar to a GPS. If it's stolen it can be recovered. It works on pager technology where the company tracks the car and then advises police of its exact location. The system costs $300-400, and the installer (like Kromer Radio) hooks it to a power source and hides it in the car. Monthly service is $12/mth. I think some insurance companies offer a modest discount if you have one. Anyone got one of these?
Of course you need a battery in your car ...
I hope that guy/girl gets the car back. This kind of stuff raises everyone's rates.

Hey Mark, thanks!
Wasn't sure if anyone out there used Boomerang. I read up on it a couple of years ago, but never met anyone who actually had it. So thanks for your endorsement. I'm going to follow up with this again in the spring. It sounds like a good alternative/addition to car alarms given how people these days are de-sensitized by their constant wailing. Besides, I'd rather get my car back since I'm never around it to hear an alarm.
I'm hoping Boomerang will be at Performance World. I'd like to see this thing and talk to someone from the company. Right now there doesn't seem to be much marketing for this. I haven't seen any literature either, just a website that disappeared.

I know the lady that owns that IROC. She lives in the same town as me. Her reputation is somewhat shady. That car has seen better days. The number on the sticker at McNeil Chev/Olds was $18,000.
