Wow, tough call, dude. It all comes down to what you really want in a Firebird. Take the '84 for instance...how much do you care for it, where do you want to go with it...ie, performance, looks etc. If you are looking for a high performance car, will the '84 be good enough with an LG4 that, stock, will make 155 RWHP. On the other hand, the GTA is already setup with the HP that the LG4 can't give ya, unless you spend thousands of $$$ to mod it. the GTA is also the luxury model of the Firebird. So you really have to answer your own question. No one can answer it for you, just offer you some things to think about. Good luck.

Yeah I'd probably try to keep them both too.. lol
Time to do some number crunching. What could you get for either one? What're they worth to you? What do they need?
And the most obvious question, which one would you rather drive around in?

Buy the GTA and take the driveline out and put it in your '84 bird! Then take any other pieces you want to keep, instruments, interior, hood and over time fit them into your '84 and make a really sweet '84 (not that its not sweet now, Ilove the colour!)

I would go with the GTA and sell the 84, better base car, hold value better, that and as u said u can make look just as good pretty cheap. What engine in the GTA, if TPI I would straight out sing a good by song to the 84.
My .03$ , only u can make that choice for yourself.

TBH, I am not sure, I think they might of had the L69 option in the older ones. I would have to look it up.
well thanks for everyones thoughts i am goin on tuesday to look it over and take it for a spin. ya its a 350 tpi and its T TOP, the t-top alone is a reasion i want it so bad, and its a 350. if i do decide to get it( meaning its in good shape and what not ) i will keep both and see if i can manage it. maby i could have one as a winter car and summer car take the winter thirdgen and slap huge a$$ tires on it. LOL. i am not ready to let go of the 84, but i really do want a GTA. so there is only one thing i can do, keep both!
