....let's put a MOTOR in a trunk!
...stupid f*cking retards. Here's the story, cut down.
Get to college, go to grab some stuff from the hatch...click of the unlock...no hum of the motor rasing. Hatch comes up fine...motor's pooched, though, and the hatch won't close without the latch up (too far down to catch). Ended up detatching the latch from the motor by ripping out the main connecting rod and locking the hatch, then wiring the hatch shut from the inside. Now the question - is their some way to fix this (such as rigging up a NON-motorized version..?) I figure the hatch would work fine, non-motorized, if the hatch latch could make it far enough down to catch the lock mechanism......
help!

Solution - As the board suggested, just going to find a spot in between 'up' and 'down' that has a good water seal around the hatch, drill a few holes, and keep the pull down bolted in place...instant non-pull down.
