window guide help!

So here's the deal:

Not sure if they are called window guides or not but I am referring to the little metal brackets with the felt on them that bolt to the top of the door (2 per side). They sit up against the glass and align it / stop vibrations. I guess the felt (or whatever material it is) is really worn because they are now nasty marks on the window top to bottom. I called the dealer here in Kitchener and they are $57 a piece!!! What the *** is up with that? Talkin' about dealer mark-up! And of course they said you can't just buy the material.

Has anyone had this problem before?? HELP!

Does anyone know of places where you can get these aftermarket?? I figure if I get them form the wreckers they will be just as worn.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

$57 is pretty good actaully. I am pretty sure these are a dealer part, but I could be wrong, but for $57 buy them. But..the scrathces on your window arent' necessarily from these pices mentioned. Sometimes the actual guides inside the door get worn, and continuously scrape the window. Make sure you have the right part causing the problem before you start replacing parts.

what guides inside the window are you referring too?? Didn't know there were more. THe lines are lined up exactly with these pieces.

There is four of them though.......that's 230$ just for those little things. THe clutch kit cost less than that! Ahhhhhhhhhh!

If I remember correctly there is two metal guides inside the door. both have felt on them too, alot of time these are the true cause for these scrathces you speak of.
