I was in Hamilton today on Rymal Road. Beside Hi-Fi plus there is a performance shop and i stopped in. I'm in search of a cold air intake for my 87 gta and asked if they could help me out? As i stepped up to the counter and looked back in their bay area i felt i was in the wrong place cause i seen nothing but mustangs back there. Anyway, he said he could make me one and put a bigger mass air sensor in line for me if i wanted. he said it's either granaty or granitaly i'm not sure which but he said it would be calibrated for my car. Does this sound right to anyone? I didn't think they did this for our cars? He said it would be $500 for the maf and told me he has something to do with the actual company? He is calling me Monday to let me know whats up and when the maf can be ready. He also told me my hunting idle can be from my descreened maf thats in line now. I have never heard of this and believe its my temp sensor. Can someone help me out and let me know if he's talking through his a$$ or if he actualy knows what he's saying. mustangs...hmmmm

$500 would be better spent in other mods.

i dont think you would even see a gain. i dont think it would be worth it at all.

as for you idle i dont think it would be the MAF. you have a cam heads and base and some other go fast goodys. it might be time for a chip too

 

the granatelli maf has a larger inside diameter, they also don't make one for tpi/tbi 3rd gens, i called and asked. as far as the hunting idle, the granatelli doesn't use screens either, granatelli maf's also run about $350 through summit or jegs.
