ever since i got this car i could not see what the prms were as because my gauges are all messed up. anyway i went and got and aftermark rpm tech. so i am just double check to see if my idle is good. in gear its at 600 or 700,P or N, its at 1000rpms. is this ok?

1000 rpm in neutral is a bit high IMO - I don't know what the spec is but I'm usually looking for 600 - 700 in neutral on my carbed LG4.

If you configured it right for an eight then they work pretty decent. My friend with a six 6000 set his wrong, for a 4 cyl, but cept it cause he liked to think his auto was shifting a 9 grand.

650-700 in P or D ( before acceleration ). Sounds like you need to make some adjustments to idle, unless that is you are certain your new rpm guage is accurate.
