So u'd think. But I have been acused before for racing when I wasnt too. I got off with a warning though
I was like Officer, I'm in a Corvette, he's in a Tempo, give me a break here. I wouldnt have to leave 1st gear to whoop him.
I had actualy called my lawyer on the cell, when the Officer finaly let me off with the warning. For some reason he didnt want to talk to my lawyer when I offered him the phone.

you are probably right, there is always something more, wether they were speeding or just being rude to the police, they probably arent as innocent as they say. attitude is everything when dealing with the law

Well personaly I find it hard to beleive that 8 mod'd cars were just driving normaly along, going to an event. But they could be right. Hard to tell.
Glad I'm not a lawyer :P

I find it hard to believe that 8 cars could be terribly abusive on a dual lane highway (and only dual lanes because they were in one of those "passing lane" stretches). If 8 cars were indeed "racing" 4 of them would've ended up in the trees or the drainage ditch. This ain't the Fast and the Furious and 8 cars on a single-lane road can hardly do anything unless they have suicidal, self-destructive tendencies.
Fact is, if these guys were totally irresponsible and in fact racing- they'd have to be the dumbest a-holes ever- all stopping when ONE officer tries to pull them over. That's ONE car giving 8 vehicles tickets simultaneously. If in fact they were legitimately doing something stupid, you can probably bet your a$$ that 7 of them wouldn't have stopped, but watched the weakest one get pulled over and keep on going...

Oh, u could be right.
But I can just as easily see them after sitting behind that car for how ever many miles.
Finding that straight open stretch of 2.8miles and passing with some pent up aggression.
Hence getting the cops attention and thus getting the racing tickets.
Since I wasnt there, its only a guess what really happened.
Bad thing is, if they're telling the truth, then we all gotta watch out.

A few of the guys involved are also associated with WOSCA which is the autox(solo racing) stuff in woodstock I attended this year. Great guys and they're also anything but punk teens in their parents cars. These guys are definately being stereotyped. Anyway, 8 fast looking cars will catch anyones attention so it doesn't surprise me they got pulled over. What does continue to surprise me is the total lack of professionalism from the police with treating each situation separately when it comes to matters such as this. Police have it tough too with stereotypes but if anyone is going to be the bigger the police should definately be stepping up first.

I expect that there is more to the story though.
