how can i tell if these are ok?HELP ME!

hey guys..I really need your help so please bare with the long post anyway i just installed a water temp and oil pressure gauge in a pod undre my dash(looks amazing). i mounted the ground under the dash on the frame just below the window>i even drilled a new hole) and put the power to my egnition. hear is the thing both gauges dont work and my stock gauges never worked after motor swap so i dont know if the senders are bad. the oil pressure pins right to the end when car is turned on and when u shut off the car the needle goes to 0(off position).
i though maby i mixed up the wires so i tryed hooking the oil pressure wire to my water temp sender and the gauge was reading/never pinned to the end does that mean the water temp sender is fine??

Now for the water temp gauge,if the car is on or off the needle is for ever pinned to the end. and when i hook up the wire the the send it still does not move, does this all mean that i did something wrong with the water temp wires (oh i notice if i hit the gauge pod the needle will go down to 0 but as soon as i tun the car on it just flings right back to the end does this the wires are not hooked up to it right or something???? i replaced the water temp sender about 4 months ago and like i said i got a reading on the oil pressure gauge what i hooked it up to the water temp sender. i am really lost on all this, can u guys tell me if there is a way i can test to see whats the problem?(wires?sender?grounds?) what should i do??? i THINK the problem with the oil pressure is the sender but i dont have a clue whats up with the water temp, please help me out, oh and sry for the long post i just wanted to be clear.

First, I would ditch the oil guage and go with a mechanical oil guage. You don't get false readings, you either have oil, or you don't the one time an electronic guage fails could mean your motor.

second, the coolant temperature guage basically works on resistance. The hotter the engine gets, it changes the resistance, which in turn gives something for the guage to read. I t sounds like you have a grounding problem somewhere between you gauge and your sensor. It reads the same thing all the time no matter what the change. Check you wiring harness, this could be the problem with the oil guage too.
