Changing to synthetic oil

I am thinking about switching to synthetic oil on the next change.
Is it a simple matter of changing old and replacing with synthetic, or do I have to flush the old then add the synthetic. In otherwords, can a small amount of regular oil be mixed with synthetic?

I'm running a 350 TPI.

Thanks, Rob

Should be ok. I switched to synthetic with no problems at all and now I am using Royal Purple. I have had heard some people have a little oil leak because it is a thinner oil. I did have this problem with the tranny after I switched to a synthetic transmission fluid.

you just change oil like you do with every other oil.

they are fully compatable.

the first time you change it though, change it a lil early, or around the same time as "regular" oil. synthetic cleans the motor out pretty good, and that means that the gunk the oil motor oil left will be cleaned off and mixed in with the synthetic.... just change it again after a lil bit and the motor will be happy and clean.
