Ottawa and Area - Tires?
Where do you guys buy your tires? I used to have a friend that worked at Myers who would get them for me real cheap...
BFG's - Comp T/A's 255/50ZR/16's
$200 each, installed and balanced...
He got fired and now I have no idea. I would hate to have to spend over a grand on tires.
I know, they don't make the Comp T/A's anymore.
I'm looking at the BFG's - G-Force Sport 255/50ZR16's
Most places don't carry that size anymore, so they are special order I'm guessing.
Just hoping someone knows of a cheaper alternative than going through a dealership or box store.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Don't ask about my other problems for the time being...when they are solved, I'll let you all know. They come and go, so I don't have clear answers.
Thanks,
Chris

Only Problem Is...
I don't use credit cards. I don't believe in them.
Most internet places I don't think, take cash, for the simple reason that they could try to deliver and the person just might not have the cash...
I'll check them out and see what I can do.
Thanks
Edit - I checked out all of those places and none of them carry the BFG's in the size I need. At least not in their online catalogues...
I'll be calling to see what they can do for special order.

Try "Deals 4 Wheels". They offer very good prices in Ottawa. Very good to deal with. I went to Merivale Rd. location. They were cheaper than I could get them for at a local GM parts department dealer I know could give them to me for almost his cost. Give them a try. Then just pick up the phone book and call as many tire dealers as you can and compare prices. Then go back to Deals 4 Wheels with the results, they should beat anyone out there - give them the chance to anyway.

Drive around to the many places asking about hardly used tires. I picked up a set with 80% tread, nothing wrong with em, for $60 installed and balanced. Just so you know it was at steelcase tires in markham.

Used tires are a roll of the dice. Been there done that.
I won't do it no more.
170km's/hr + for 5 hours in Quebec can take a toll on a tire. These bastards put a patch on the sidewall. Thats when it went. It blew out so I let the car coast to a halt.
Goodyear gave me a brand new one to replace it cause the blowout was so bad, it made one hell of a picture!

There's a used tire place on Bank across from the big LCBO, there's another one on Bentley, but you'd have to deal with the ignorant Leb, or whatever the f*** he is.
There's Deals 4 Wheels, like buddy said, their prices arent too bad.
And then there's No Limits. I've been reading some good deals on a tire company they run out of there calle Premiere...something or other. On Redliners.ca, it's like a bidding war between 3 local Ottawa companies. The prices are actually getting pretty awesome. I know Spaz has a huge stockpile of tonnes of Falken tires that they're practically giving away.
If you go on the vendor forum on Redliners, you can see his complete list of Falken tires, sizes and prices.
I just have to throw in the fact that anybody who buys tires from a dealer, might as well bend over after dropping the soap, because you have to know it's coming, before you even walk in the joint.
