Which engine computers can be used in 87-89 TPI 305, 350 auto Camaros T/A?
I just need the ecm to plug my prom into.
Maby someone has a spare for sale?

 

Looks like you can use any computer from 87-89 Camaro and Firebird / TA 5.0 (LB9) or 5.7 (L98). You can also use the computer from some '86 5.0's. Nothing any older than '86 and nothing from '90+ as the GM part #'s for these computers change (probably cuz the emission set up and mass air flow systems changed).

GM part #'s for the 87-89 "Emission Control System Modules" (or computers) are 88999194 for both 5.0's and 5.7's (stick or auto's). They are only available as a reman.

The module is still available and prices out at $248 list with a $170 core charge if you'd like to pick one up at your local GM dealership.

they are known as the 165 ECM . Should be a cheap buy somewhere.
