What's wrong with winter? You get to drive sideways without trying to drift the car. Also it's real easy to do donuts in the parking lot. lol
Be patient only a few months now to go.

I hope the ground hog was right
I hate the Jan/Feb winter months because of the bloody cold - it's hard to work in a unheatd garage, even with warm clothing on.

Spring!
Lets hear it for spring!! These last few weeks of weather have been killing me, it's depressing. I am dying to get the Camaro out and back on the road, I've got a pile of new stuff to go on the MGB.....and my truck needs a proper bath REALLY bad!I know it's hard to think about right now as we're about to get hit real bad with snow....but the long rang forecast shows a high of positive 13 here about 2 weeks from now, lets hope it's not just wishful thinking!
LOL,
Forget working on the car, right now, I'm trying to keep gas in the snow blower - global warming?.
I've been out three times already, with the shovel and the blower, - I can only imagine what the guys out near Hamilton, Burlington, Nigra-region are facing right now. Never mind, what aout across the lake in NY?

I'll be sure to take some pics. Are there any thirdgens in Cuba? Yeah.. my bad... I went back and edited the post but I was too slow. Are you the guy that I swapped engine blocks with a few years ago?
Nope - I haven't met most of you, only a few. Our 'let's get together' attempts never seem to jive with my schedual. Plus alot of you TGO vetrans are out EAST - Ottawa etc area, hard to get out there. This summer tho, I hope to meet a few more of you - especially Player 88 (Steve) and George. Can't wait to try my hands out at Mosport.
(Just don't want to embarrASS myself too much
) Maybe we should have an offical TGO Ontario chapter meet and greet somewhere where all of use could get together - make it offical or something - car show, prizes - I would be happy to help put something together like that. What do you think? Rent out a facility/park/parking lot, get a few tgo Canadian sponsors to perhaps donate a bit of cash for some car show trophies. Come to think of it, I'm sure I read some old posts where something like this has been done. Anyways, Any feedback from you guys would be great....
Enough - back to shoveling all this white stuff - glad I don't work today - all the schools are closed out here

Absolutely... we used to have TGO - Ontario events (official and unofficial), but when all of the smaller regional boards started up (SOGM, CCFB, KWF, LONDON F-BODY), they kind of took over where we left off. I have been somewhat out of the loop for the past few years while we were building our project car.
There was a point when I actually requested that Dirk appoint someone else as moderator as things had become too busy in my life. Apparently things were busy in his life as well because he never got back to me.
Our car is now finished... so I plan to hit every event I can this coming summer. I am all for trying to put together a thirdgen.org ontario gathering and also working with the local clubs like CCFBG to have our members participate in their events as well.

Ya I want to see that car of yours Jay...first/last time I saw it, it was in your garage, "white" and you just put your own custom subframes in it (when I droped off the delta many years ago).
I live up in Brampton now close to your gf's place, drop me a line in the summer when you are out in my neck of the woods with the car.

Well well...
Maybe you could set up a poll on here to gauge interest in this sort of thing.I don't know how to do it(even tho I receive a tgo email telling me that I could do it?)
Second, Feeback from the rest of the Ontario chapter would be great.
I know that mamy tgo members on here are affiliated or are atleast board members of other thirdgen related sites like Toronto F-body etc - to hear their opinions....From there at least those who are interested in putting this together would have an idea of what is wanted and the direction that it should go.
Items like cost? - What would be an acceptable cost to participate - enter a car in the show/judging, or just fees to get in etc... What catagories.... What weekends during the summer work best... My most recent involvement in the car show circut was at the Georgetown Father's day show - Classics against Cancer - They put together a good show all-be-it they are exerienced and deal with many vehicle types - we could for example, model a show along thier lines.

Ya as for the delta, our plans (myself and buddy Trev) never got off the ground. We paid storage on it for almost a year before we realized that both of us didnt need another project, especially since we both purchased houses...I am very sorry to say it ended up in the scrapper!
As for my car...she is still looking good (well..last time I looked at it). But last year wasnt too good to her, engine is toast. So she currently sits in my garage half apart waiting till I find a cheep 305 or 350 to toss in her just to get it running again...until then it will sit...."hopefully" I will have her going for the spring/summer.

Sorry to hear that Dave... I will keep an eye out for a cheap 350TPI. Is there anything that can be salvaged off the old engine?

WHOO! Nice ride Johnny! I thought that was Kandied's car there for a minute who did the paint on that thing?
I cant believe I got my car running finally. What a project... I hope its worth it. I still have at least one full day of tweaks before its wrapped up and then a tune... Not sure if I'm gonna pony up and get the tuning software or farm it out for a tune.

Keep us posted about a TGO meet. I like the idea of adding onto a ccfbg show. I know there are a few of the members on this board. I am looking for a club to join.
Worst case cenario...........come to my house bring the cars and have a BBQ. This is a serious offer............car must be in attendance in order to eat.

If you have any questions about getting into that just ask on here or PM me or whatever.
I'm sure that Steve would be happy to answer any questions you might have as well.
Also, check out casc.on.ca for lap days; sometimes they come up on short notice. Prices vary a lot too; twice last year I was able to get on the GP Track for $200 a day which is really good - usually it's around $350. NB - $350 may seem like a lot but it's from 9-5 and they have paid marshalls on the track as well as ambulance and race rescue.
BTW, OMSC lap days on the DDT are around $135 and they have 4 or 5 per season. They also hold a school which is $200 and that includes the track fee of $135.
A couple of years ago the Dungville track announced a free lap day on maybe 3-4 days notice. A few of us from TFBM went and it wasn't too bad of a day except that I had to bleed my brakes before I could drive the car home..lol
CSC Racing in Newmarket has a sale/open-house in April I think it is and a lot of people go there just to hang out for a bit as well as register for Solo 1 etcetera. If you need a helmet or something it's worthwhile and there's people there from a lot of different race clubs.
