rear disc conversion
I have an 87 GTA with rear drum, I got a rear axle with PBR disc brakes from an 89 GTA.
Can I use the 87's axle and change the mounting plate, calipers from the disc axle or do I have to change the whole axle?

Re: rear disc conversion
What gears came with the 9 bolt rear ends?
Is there a number on the axle to verify?
Which is the better axle, stay with 10 bolt or just swap to 9 bolt?

Re: rear disc conversion
The nine-bolt is marginally stronger, but parts are, or at least have been, difficult to find. No parts problem with the 10-bolt and the 89-92 PBR's are a plus. Gearing and limited slip also might be a consideration in choice between the 9- and 10-bolt.
