Need to pass Etest..

Not a Camaro needing to pass, still a chevy though!!
Gonna be moving to Ontario, so I'll have to get my 1998 chev 1500 4x4 E-tested. Thing I'm worried about is while its in good mechanical shape the engine is a 383 stroker, comp full roller valve train including 1.6 ratio rockers & duel springs,Cam, heads redone and moded to allow for higher lift, bbk 80mm throttlebody, dual fuel nelson tune, intake, headers, true dual exhaust(will need to put Cats back on it) 70,xxx on the engine. So If I throw the Cats back on the truck would I have a chance of passing or am i screwed? Is there any tips and tricks to passing?
I'm in Manitoba, so passing E-test was never a concern before.
If I tell them its a 383ci will they allow it to pollute a bit more than a 350ci would be allowed??

Re: Need to pass Etest..

Do a search in this forum for more etest info...
I'd try and find a shop that would test it as a hot rod..no visual (no cats needed) and much looser standards. You basically just need to convince them that that motor was not originally offered in that year of truck, then its considered a hotrod.
Don't even tell them it a stroker..

Neil, does that hot rod part of the legislation still exist? I thought they just looked at the year of the vehicle and that's it these days. In which case the best chance for Manitoba is to put the cats on it and cross your fingers. As long as the cats are in good shape and the truck has had a good run to heat everything up before the appt., he should be OK. It's that or cough up the $450.

Don't know. Easy to find out though.
I passed with no cats.
