Sup dude, not to come in and freeload or any such thing, just curious as to where your shop is located and what kinda deal I could get on a decent factory colour repaint? (provided I do the necessary body work myself..?). I'd much rather trust my car in the hands of pros and people I "know" then some teen down at Maaco....and I figure Spring will yield me the necessary dough for the paint. Let me know! :lala:

My shop is located just around the corner from Fatboys Performance and Royal Auto Collision down just off of Sherman... For a base clear providing u do the necessary body work (will u be prepping it yourself?), I wouldnt be able to match Maacos new deal, but I'm estimating between 300-500... The problem is that, if there is major body work to be done, we like to do the work ourselves, reason being, we have had people come in here and ask the same thing u just asked... How much for a base clear paint job and I will do the body/prep work.... They end up doing the body/prep work, looks decent, so we go ahead with the paint... The customer comes back the next day with a gigantic smile on his face saying "WOW THAT LOOKS FUKIN AMAZING!!!"... he is very impressed and satisfied... A month later he comes back and says, I want my money back because my paint is bubbling... Well thats whut happens when u dont do correct bodywork.... Alot of people think body work is just sanding down a spot and filling it in with bondo... Theres alot more too it... Although the customer was wrong, he was a kid about the same age as me, 18, and wasnt very financially stable.. We felt sorry for him, so we helped him out and we did the body work and gave him a repaint as long as he advertised our sticker on his back windshield.... He did get a lecture and we told him the next time he needs body work done on any vehicle, bring it to us... We are not in the business to screw people around.. We like to have friendly relationships with our customers.... 90% of our customers stop back and some even bring us coffees and talk... So if u really know whut u are doing when it comes to body work and can do it correctly yerself, we will do our part and yer car will come out of our paint booth like glass... There is a deal for third gen f-bodies also.. Just kidden there isnt but I'll hook u up with something..

Excellent, that's great to hear. By doing the bodywork myself I'm moreso meaning having me along with a shop-owning family member and a few (knowledgable) friends do the work alongside me...I understand the basis behind the prep, and that the paint'll only turn out as good as the work done beforehand (in the long run, of course.) "Is 383 Smoka in today...?" "Who...???" lol Thanks alot, I'll be seeing you, I'm sure, come Spring or so when my tax return has had time to fester....

LMFAO! Right now we will be kissing your feet! Nah... We dont have many "real" cars in lately... Mostly rice buckets! Just got done a body and paint on a Madza MX3.. Turned out good.... Just finished a body job on a Prelude too.. Havent had much muscle lately although we are working on a full resto of a 1980 Camaro Z28.... Starting to look sweet!

Hmm...well, my friend is looking at around $2k for a hyper-bright flourescent orange job on his RX-7 this summer....guess I know where we'll be bringing that car, too. =D

383smoka i have a question for you i want to get my car repainted it looks good now but i need to change the 2 front fenders ( one damaged the other rust holes) put on a ram air hood get my ground effects re painted gold and fix some minor surface rust on the rear quarter panels. Could i get an estimate for this please?

I cant give u an honest estimate until i see the car because I dont want to put a set price in yer head when it could actually be more or less when we inspect it.... When u said u wanted 2 new fenders and a ram air hood, were u ordering this from us or do u have another source.. Because if u have another source u can save yerself some labour costs by installing the new fenders and hood yerself, and removing all the gfx... This way, when u bring us the car, u will have the new fenders and ram air hood on the car with the gfx off and ready for paint.. Than we can do the necessary body work, than prep it for paint, paint it, than put the gfx back on and it and she will look sharp... Doing it that way I would say it would run u from 500-750 bucks.... If u want us to remove gfx, fenders, hood and replace it with your new parts than it could be 750-1000 for everything... But like I said, we would have to check her out first... It could be less, but I dont think it'll be anymore... Im not the body man, I just help once in a while and I see the jobs that come in and compare prices with whut u are telling me... I do know alot about body work from working on my Camaros before I had my license, but for an accurate price, u would have to talk to Eddie..

No Dave, I dont have the tinted taillights on my car, they are off my car down in my bedroom... This could be a nice upgrade for yer car? On my car I have the GTS Blackouts... I like the look of em better than the IROC tail lights with the 91/92 spoiler... Dave, have u seen a purple IROC with white stripes, with a nice spoiler on the back kruzen around lately? Usually out friday and saturday nights....? Also has GTS Blackouts?

I seen one a longgg time ago when I had my Buick, actually when I just got back from looking at my Camaro back when it was on sale, It was behind me, but it was night time, it had stripes on it and such. I couldent tell the colour, but today I went to the junkyard, on the way I saw a Red Camaro IROC on the link.

Dude I would go for the 91/92 Spoiler! Theres a 91 Z28 for sale in the Hamilton Spectator Auto Parts ads for 800 obo.... Perfect front clip, gfx, normal Z28 rims (not 91/92 style), nice black interior, without an engine or tranny, all for 800 bucks... I desperately want the 91 GFX for my car... I think im gunna pick it up tomorrow.... So Dave if yer looking for any parts, maybe I can hook u up..
