It was $30 US ($20 + $10shipping) which is roughly $45-$50 Canuck play money. Had I put $20 I would have had one of you guys saying "well if you do the math it's actually $50". I had it sent to my Aunt's house in Northern New York. I'm getting a little tired of paying the UPS brokerage fees.
Yeah.. no **** eh? I got a couple sets of valve covers, and the brokerage fees is 120bux!!!!! More than what I paid for one set of valve covers.... grrrrrr.... and they never come here when I am home!!!
I got them on e-bay... I have a set of tall and short polished aluminum ball milled valve covers. They are in... I just have to pick them up from the main UPS office... I am debating if I should throw the tall ones on or not... I can sell ya the set I don't use.
For all you guys buying stuff in the US- tell the seller to ship the stuff to you in Canada via US Post (not UPS, but USPS- i.e. regular mail). Shipping charge itself for something about 5lbs is around $7-8 USD, but here's the bonus- it gets handed over to Canada Post, who adds GST to the price the shipper states on the label and a $5.00 'processing fee'-i.e. the brokerage charge is $5.00 CDN.
Only problem of course is that regular US Post can take 10-12 days for goods to arrive and US International Express Post costs more and still takes 6-10 days. As well- some sellers don't seem to want to go to the post office (especially if they ship alot of stuff via UPS or Fedex or whatever- it's alot easier for them to throw it in the pile of other stuff going out via the courier).
