I will be doing the caravan again this year. We will meet up at the Ohare oasis on 294 going south at 9:00am and leave by 9:20am. We will meet up with the southside caravan for one big group. If you want to get there a little bit earlyer for some food, coffee or gas that would be great no stopping along the way. Any questions let me know.

just wonderin' what essentials to bring...llike camera,spray wax,rags,etc...any essentials critical?...not the dumb obvious ones,like money,full tank of gas etc either...maybe like hookers and ******?....

 

the first stuff sure, the latter will be xpndbl approved

 

a good place to sit, sun screen, beer if you are of age, snack for the ride, money if you need any parts from denny, there will be some drinks and food but if you want extra water or pop. full tank of gas allways helps too. maybe a few tools just incase. i mean one your a guy did a trans swap so anything can happen

damnit, looks like i can't make it now. Had a wicked case of blow by, checked it out, and looks like the rings on three of my pistons are completely shot....so the engine is out and I'm commencing a rebuild....i guess ill go next year :'(

Hey Zero, thanks for the offer I really appreciate it! I might actually be over in Indiana fixing my car at my friends place...since that's where it was when i blew up the engine lol. Otherwise if I'm in town I'll let you know, but if you don't hear from me just go without me. Thanks again!

 

Hopefully old fat guys are invited too. I plan on coming down to Crete for the first time. Been trying to get the car tuned a little better so I'm not killing every bug for a block radius with the exhaust fumes. Never taken it on a trip over 50 miles, and Crete's 2 hours and 110 miles from me, so a tank of gas "might" get me there..lol

If all else fails, I'll have to be a misfit and take the Challenger there....

EDIT: I most likely won't show till early Saturday (around 7AM), since I'd probably get myself in trouble if I were to show up Friday. Look forward to seeing all the nice rides...even if they're trailer queens..lol

 

Just look for the heavy duty chairs and walkers....there will be a few of us in that section

 

I "believe" saturday that the show officially starts at noon, which is why we're running a northside chicago caravan into a southside chicago caravan at my place and then continuing down to crete.

Ahhh..OK then. Then I suppose if I were to show up that early, no one would be there then? I guess I'm a little concerned about getting stuck in a traffic jam or something before I reach the oasis...not absolutely sure if the Camaro will stay cool enough if I'm idling forever in traffic.

Guess I'll have to roll the dice and meet up at the oasis...

 

You can show up earlier, but there might not be anyone there but denny since it's his place Otherwise roll up to the oasis early and then head down with them instead. I'm sure it has some kind of breakfast food being served inside the oasis

 

traffic early sat morning is good and very light. we meet up with the southside caravan and end up at third gen fest around 11-12 anyways. anyone is welcome to join the caravan down. if you get the the oasis early you can always get some food or coffee or just hang out. like i said before trying to leave by 9 no later then 9:15.

 

the official weather report is a slight chance of storms and a high of 72. the chance is 20% so not too bad

 

have been checking weather every day,and this is a good sign..would hate to pull car out just to get rained on..hasnt seen rain in years!!!

 

I think I'll be trying for the caravan. Depends on how long it takes to clean the car up, and get the badges mounted.

I still need to install the Dyno Don's headers I have, UMI torque arm mount, LCARB's, headliner, sail panels, sun visors and a 3 gage A-pillar pod....ain't gonna happen.

umm might not have been the wrong one might have been wrong time. we left about 9:10 or so. next year ill start a list so we will have an idea of who to expect
