GM never made a "stock" 355 engine in our cars. If you have a block that has been bored .30 over to make it 355ci and you have retained all factory components, I would guess it might give you anywhere from 20-25 horse power with absolutely no other modifications. This is just my "guesstimate" assuming a stock '88 350 TPI motor rated at 235HP from the factory.

I would guess those 5 extra cubes maybe give you 2hp. a 355 TPI with stock parts is kind of like ehhh.... nevermind.

Re: How much HP????

I think Firebirds had 10 less HP due to the air intake being more restrictive. Dual cat optioned cars (N10) were rated at 10 more hp.

86 camaro - 220 hp @ 4200, 320tq @ 3200
87 camaro - 225@4400 330@2800
88 camaro - 230@4400 330@3200
89 camaro - 240@4400 345@3200
90-92 camaro 245@4400 345@3200
