hey a quick question on Magnum TPI. Why did you guys run DFI instead of '730 SD ECM? Just curious, I don't see any benefit of switching ECMs, your motor isnt all that nutz...cheers, Bob

gee thanks Ed...

Thought that people might be interested in why the GM ECM was dumped for an aftermarket unit. There are several people here running engines that are comparable to Magnum TPI and are running a GM ECM. Thought a discussion of the pros and cons of each type might make for a nice thread. But hey once again your on top of things with an informative answer.. :lala:

I guess I'll just stick with my '749 ECM running a TPI.. cheers, Bob

I was just trying to be helpful. You see, perhaps if you email him and engage him in conversation you could understand his / gmhtp's reasoning. Then you could carry that knowledge back to us.
Message boards are not a suitable place for paging: threads, especially for people that aren't very active members.

Thought a discussion of the pros and cons of each type might make for a nice thread.
Sure, this would make a great topic for a thread titled: Aftermarket vs. GM ECM, pros and cons. Then everyone reading the board knows what is in it, and if they are interested in it they will come in and contribute. That is the proper way to start a discussion on these boards. If you really would like Mr. Hunkin's opinion, you could then email him a link to the thread and ask him if he could comment on how he made the choice on magnum TPI.

so back to you.

BTW, since i've now given you a lesson on board ettiquette, you may now practice. If you would like to have a discussion on aftermarket vs. GM ECMs feel free to post such a topic. This one, however, is closed because of your gross overreaction to my help.
