question about vats system

Will the vats system learn a different resistance value other than what it came with.
I need to replace my lock cylinder I have a spare complete with key, but the key is the wrong value.

Thanks

nope, it will not learn a new value. Just go down to the chevy dealer and get the right blank cut from the new key and you'll be all set.

I was fooling with the spare cylinder and figured out how to take it apart without destroying it.
I'm going to take the two little clips out of the spare, and put them in the original. That should solve the problem.

Be careful is all i can say. I'd hate to see you wreck your 'good' one just cuz you didn't want to get new keys. But if you can make it work, then go for it. Hell, if you have a digital camera take some pics, maybe it'll help somebody else out if it's not that hard to crack open.
