OK GUYS I got a 1986 305 tpi trans am with ws6 i got the 350 exhaust i no i got this because my friends 89 iroc 350 has exactly the same ok now i need to no does this mean my ta has the 350 cam also i realy need to no because i plan on changing the cam and i want some good advice on the cam to choose thanksguys

I would say no you have a 305 cam just with a little better lift than most but if I was you are gonna get a cam either get summits tpi cam for your car or get the compu cam by comp cams both are available thru your summit catalog online.

 

I'm not sure I can quite figure out what the hell you're asking, but I'll try to answer my interpretation.

All 86 TPI cars came with the peanut cam.

I believe that the 86 TPI cars had the same exhaust manifolds, y-pipe & cat as the single-cat L98 cars. The L98 may have had a slightly larger diameter intermediate pipe, I can't recall. Unless your 86 is a low milage car, it's quite doubtful that it still has the factory exhaust anyway, so it's tough to make any comparisons.

 

the car has 20 000 miles on it even original rubber the reason that i'm asking is because i seen some other tpi 305 's exhaust and they were the same as the tbi ones all i can tell you is my car runs the q -mile at 15.7 with the 2.77 gears all i changed was the wires plugs airfoil k@n muffler removed the cat and hypertech chip
so this time sucks
