Question about Charcoal Cannister Purge
What scanner readings should I see on the CCP purge? On my 89RSZZ4TPI anything over 5% throttle induces at least 99.5% purge/cycle. Does this sound normal?
I'm still getting massive knock counts and timing retard on anything over 20% throttle. Good ignition stuff and good fuel pressure as proven by FP gage sticking out the hood.

Is your EGR working? If it's not there, is it disabled in the PROM?
Lemee load up Excel, just a sec...
My situation may be a bit different from yours, EGR and deceleration fuel cutoff is disabled (for tuning purposes).
Nothing in cell 0 (idle in drive).
Very little in cell 1, but it's on/off
Lots in cell 2, mostly on/off, sometimes it's a part value.
That's all I have right now for logged data, so your readings seem ok to me.
Remember that our ECM's add spark advance during power enrichment mode, so that additional timing might be your problem.
Someone just posted a similar problem to yours that I replied to today, you guys should get together and have a chat.

EGR is disabled in the prom and we changed at least one table to #24lb injectors (don't remember which one) Other than that we just changed the fan on/off temps and changed the MPH the TQ locks (I think).
I just check the knock sensor. A tap on the passenger side headers give one knock count each time so the Helms says the sensor is good based on that test. And of course, no codes. The car has run perfect in it's present configuration before. The only change is the new Walbro fuel pump and new adj FPR. I have it set at 38 at idle, vacuum hooked up. Unhook the vacuum it climbs to 42-44. Pressure does not fall under load.
The car was running way rich for a long time. Could there be carbon buildup on the pistons causing detonation? Would it detonate all the time or only under load?
Another thought is one failing injector. Under load/heavy PW it goes lean and causes one cylinder to go lean, causing knock counts?
Just ideas.
Thanks.
