MAT sensor info

hi again..
I changed intake gaskets the other night and forgot to plugt the MAT sensor back in when i put the upper plentum back on..anywho ....the car has a very noticable power gain with it unplugged....i realizied i left it unpugged soon as the code poped up ...but what can i do about this???? i think i once read something about putting a resistor in its place...can anyone help me out here????

If you want any kind of gas mileage, avoid the resistor route and plug it back in. I've done the resistor thing, it's great in cold weather but in warm weather it sucks. The reason why your car feels stronger is because you are in open loop and the ECM is defaulting to a rich mixture. The ECM goes into open loop mode when it doesn't recieve all the data it needs from the various sensors to make its various calculations.
