how do i seal up my runners?

I have a 1988 vette L98 in my 1984 monte with mostly 1987 fbody stuff (harness, 165 ecm, fuel rails, etc) the engine, heads, intake and TPI plumbing is all stock from the vette. Recently I took it apart for the first time to upgrade to ford 24# injectors and now I cant get rid of a pesky vacuum leak in the passenger side rear runner gasket. I dont know if i'm tightening it down right.

I have 8" of vacuum at 750 rpm. The idle and vacuum spike when i spray starting fluid at this 1 gasket. The car has a slightly big cam.

I think my tightening sequence or technique might be wrong. I have not been going over the bolts in any sequence, just got them all started and tightened them all as I saw them. Torqued the lower runner bolts down, then tapped the plenum between the 2 runners with a rubber mallet. Do I DARE put a little RTV on the runner gaskets?

Thanks

hmm. With new gaskets, unless something is warped, you shouldn't have any problem sealing the runners. Hell, I reuse the old gaskets every time and I've still never had a leak.

Put some RTV on it.....worst is you'll have to take it apart and replace the gaskets which you'll probably have to do anyway.

i'm a crackhead. this morning i pulled the plenum and passenger runner for the 4th time this week and found out that I absentmindedly forgot to install that gasket at all. Thanks for the responses you guys. Hope this ends my problems.
