yesterday i finally started up the car, i got the aluminum heads on ported plenum, slp runners, hooker headers and cam put in. it idles at 2,000 rpm. the knock sensor isn't hooked up and the O2 sensor isn't hooked up. (becuase of wiring problems, but will soon be hooked up) could this cuase this? i didn't mess w/ retarding the timing much, but i don't think that is the problem.
well anyway that isn't the worst of the news, after run'n for about 5 mins an engine fire occered and destroyed all the wiring on the passanger side of the engine comartment.
seems the positive battery cable was too close to the headers down by the starter. burned through, shorted out and fried wires which started a fire.

Sorry for the tough luck...
but dont ever expect to the engine to do ANYTHING correctly without all sensors plugged in and functioning.
