TPI tuning questions!
Well, new motor is in. Mods in sig. I have a Monitor 4000E scanner I've been using to watch the new motor. A few questions:
1)Should my IAC counts rise as I rev the motor?
2)Should my SAP (spark advance) be up to almost 50*?
3)At same time as above, should my knock retard be 20* or so?
4)I'm NOT receiving any knock so I'm not sure about the knock retard. Is that how its supposed to work?
5)Also, what should Inj PW be at? Any normal number they should be around? SHould they rise as I rev it?
*I'm new to the tuning stuff, and I'm gonna have to learn somehow I guess. Thanks for ANY info. Later

re:
BTW- those 50* advance numbers were when I was driving it at somewhat normal throttle going thru the gears. (2-3 grand)

Hey. I have a couple Excel files I got after running around with Moates' ECM software that I can mail to you if you want. Give you an idea what another one looks like. Though I only have a stock run and one of the mods listed below.
David
PS i still have the stock chip with no reprogramming.

1. yes, IAC count should rise as throttle position increases
2.??? maybe software interface problem???
3. knock retard should be at Zero. Check wiring and connection. 4. Does not have to show knock to retard.
5. mine is at 1.8-2.8 with fuel pressure at 55 psi. It can change a lot with engine speed.

re:
Thank soooooooooo much guys. I was getting a code 43 ESC failure. I replaced my knock sensor with my 305 one and the code is gone.(305 KS had ~3000 ohms.... 350 KS had 0 ohms = JUNK) I'm watching it with the scanner too. Still no knock present! As for that 8 or so degrees knock retard at idle and 20* when driving, I guess that was a safety put out by the ECM b/c there wasn't any communication with the knock sensor. It should be running alot better now. Guess that KS was all my problems. Thanks for all the info guys!
