What to do?

I just bought a 1990 t-a.it has the lb9 engine, auto trans and 2:73 rear, other than that it is stock.I've been reading post on proms, porting and so on.Can i run a bigger injector without reprogramming the ecm? What mods can i do that are fairly reasonable, but will benifit the most?also is the lb9 engine a sturdy motor?id like to try for high thirteens ...if possible
any suggestions will be helpful.

LB9 is a good engine. What you need to do is decide how you want to use the car, daily driver, street/strip, strip, etc. And find out what mods will get you where you want to be. I cannot stress this enough, RESEARCH everything before you buy it.

Since you said you want to run high 13's, you obviously have set one goal already, and I assume it is your daily driver?

I would get rid of those terrible gears first. Get some 3.42's and a posi if you don't have one already. Then I'd get headers and an exhuast. Those are common first mods and for good reason. I'd also learn how to burn your own PROM's, I wish I would have learned sooner. This will come in VERY handy now and down the road. This should get you started in the right direction. Keep readin these boards, there is a lot of good info here.

Dont waste your time replacing the injectors unless they need to be replaced. Whats in there now will work fine for high 13's.
