Dyno numbers

Has anyone else noticed the huge variance of peoples dyno #'s?
I hav seen many cars ,same mods, very close ET's and MPH ,but there is a 20-30 hp difference in dyno readings.I belive much of this must be the dyno operator, sine the #'s are corrected. So, I have pretty much started to ignore those #'s and just see what the car MPH's at for a good indecation of its true HP.It appears that dyno #'s on the internet are about as good as comparing ET's from different tracks in different state.Just seemed kind of strange

That's because Dyno's themselves are about as consistant as different tracks are. Just about any dyno owner out there will tell you that comparing numbers from different Dyno's is sketchy at best. You could very well see a 20hp difference between dyno's on the same exact car. But runs on the same dyno should be consistant and reliable.
