LT1 INTAKE V Tpis Miniram
Hey can anyone tell me if the LT1 intake is better than TPIS miniram?I currenly am running there BIGMOUTH intake & think is works great.I was hoping to purchase there Mini ram but if the cost of the LT1 is that much cheaper & does the thing.I'd lov to try & save some loot & put something else on.
any one ever compared them or know of anyone that has done this??

I am not 100% sure...
...but I'd be willing to bet someone will back me up in saying that an LT1 intake ported out will be pretty dam close to the performance of a miniram for about $2500 cheaper.
Therefore, I would go with the LT1 intake.

I think there are some issues of the LT1 intake fitting on the L98 block.
I know someone this board was talking about the conversion and they left a web address of some guys who do the swap. Poke around the message archives and check it out dude.

I think the $400 converted intake is the one he is talking about. I'll have mine on and running in a week or two. I'll let ya know the performance then.

Total cost is like $600 total compared to $1K for the miniram. If you are good at working around and fixing things, then get the LT1 intake, if you just want to bolt something on an go, then get the miniram.

I have been looking into the LT1 Intake upgrade. I was researching this same question. Do we have any new information yet? What is the difference(as in power) between the LT1 on a TPI and the mini ram?? I hope someone is out there?!!
I bought a MiniRam about six months before I joined this board and found out that I could have done the LT1 swap for about 800 cheaper!
If I had it to do over again, I would have done the LT1. I seriously doubt that there is any real measurable gain such that it would be worth spending the extra 800 smackers.

Glad to see some intrest. ULTM8Z to bad about the intake. I know that I have seen a lot of great tech stuff on this site since I joined. At least you have a Mini Ram on your car. Most of us would love to have it. But, its all about the Benjimans. Who knows, maybe the power differentce is more than you think.
Hopefully we will find out.

I bought the necessary parts from John Millican, but did the conversion myself to save some $$$. I don't have any numbers yet, but the butt dyno results are great. I'm thrilled with the LT1 intake. If you can afford it, have John do the conversion for you. He was a great help during the whole process, but it was a LOT of work to get it right. I can definitely feel a difference in performance.

Hey guys, I just baught an intake and fuel rails from EBay. I can't wait to start my upgrade. I still would like to see some numbers before I invest to much more. I will be shipping my intake to John. I don't think I could do a better job than someone who has done so many already. Besides, he did the leg work.
