What is it?
Could someone please tell what the tube is that runs from the valve cover to the TB. Can it be removed? I'm looking for new valve covers and if I get ones with one hole in each cover they are easier to find. As it is now I need one cover with two holes and one cover with one hole. Thanks
You can use the valve covers with only one hole each. The stock driver side usually has an oil fill hole, but aftermarket covers dont have this. The driver side hose is your PVC which goes to the intake manifold...the passenger side hose is the breather, which pulls clean, filtered air out of the TB into your crankcase, and is needed.
Just use your PVC as your oil filler hole, and you wont need anything else. Then you can use a tranny funnel to fit in the smaller hole.

If it's ok to just use a breather (looks like it might be), then that'll solve the problem I'm about to run into with my LT1 conversion. I was looking at running a hose from the TB to the valve cover, but I think I'll just plug the TB outlet with one of those vacuum caps.
It would have been covered up with vette covers anyway, but it'll save me some time.

With a SD car it doesn't matter much, but i'd still run it anyway just because there is no good reason not too. I've never gotten any significant oil/vapor in the TB through that tube.
