sticky throttle
I have an 88 iroc 350 tpi. the trottle was sticking so i changed and reset the t.p.s.. While i had the sensor off i sprayed car choke cleaner all around the butterflies to clean off any crap that may have built up and possibly keepin the trottle from closing. i had a lot of black stuff flow out of it. Is that good? After putting it all back together i started the car and the trottle still sticks at 2000 rpm's. when i drive the car and get on it, it takes forever for the needle to go back down and then it sticks at 2000 again. Any advice on what it can be?

A sticking throttle could be caused by a few things. You said you replaced and reset the TPS and it didn't cure the problem. If you reset it correctly then obviously that wasn't the problem and you just wasted a little dough in the process. Here's what I'd do:
Disconnect all the cables from the throttle body. Check the throttle cable itself to see if there is any resistance. If so, you found your problem. Replace it.
If not, open and close the butterflies manually and see if they close all the way. It's spring loaded so it should just snap itself shut. If it doesn't then the butterfly shaft is extremely dirty and needs to be cleaned or the spring is bad and needs to be replaced.
Other than that, there's really nothing else. You just have to use a little common sense with most of these problems. I usually check everything that may cause the problem rather than just start replacing things. Save time and money that way. If you still can't figure out, let me know and I'll see what else I can do for you.
