Some Expert Tuning Assistance Please,

Headers, A.I.R gone
Hypertech Chip
Bypassed Throttle Body Coolant Lines
Accel Supercoil
High Flow Cat & After Cat Exhaust
.420 ''/ .442 '' Summit Cam (204/214)
Relocated IAT
160 thermostat
I have followed the tuning procedures (t.p.s .54 volts) to a 't'. 14 degrees BTDC. car will hold a steady idle @ 750 in Drive. But it is a slug off the line. i have replaced just about every sensor and the egr valve. she sounds like its fouling at low r.p.m's but clears out @ higher revs. The car feels like it doesn't have any power and I have fouled pluggs in the past too. I run 93 octane and delco r45ts's. Any help would be much appreciated. I baffled tech support at summit and know i will give the forum a shot, any assistance to give my car more ***** would be appreciated

Well weather expert applies here, im doubtful, But I will take a shot.

14* BTDC is too Much.

I would be willing to bet you are getting enourmous amounts of knock retard in high load situations like launch, and it is killing your power.

Reduce your base timing ( esc disconnected ) To 6* or so BTDC, and get that hypertech Chip as far from the car as possible.

I trust from your Name the car is an 86, and as such a Lb9.

In 86 Many of the PROM's were faulty, causing lots of problems. So going back to the stock code for you would not be advisable.

I would recommend Starting with the base ARAP code from 89 w/ Vats disabled. Will do alot more for you than the hypertech will.

Also, toss the 160* stat in favor of a 180. 160 is too cold for these EFI motors.

Give that a try, and see what happens

i thank you for your inquiry into my thread. i am not familiar with the vats terminology, is that like the block learn multiplier tables or something.?? by the way the car has had the ecm replaced already in favor of a delphi and do not know if the prom is the stock unit. the tech at summi told me to run 87 octane with a timing of 10-14 degrees btdc with the stock chip for a week to see if it clears out and that 93 takes longer to burn. he may have something since she smoothed out a little w/ the stock prom after these changes were performed. Again your ideas are valued.
