Aftermarket Injectors

GETTING MY MONEY'S WORTH OUT OF THIS FORUM GUYS..

I'VE HEARD FOR YEARS THAT THE STOCK GM INJECTORS ON THE TPI MOTORS ARE JUNK ? THEY BURN UP (HAD TO HAVE SEVERAL REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY YEARS AGO) AND THEY DON'T FLOW AT THE SAME RATE ???? WHICH RESULTS IN POOR THROTTLE RESPONSE AND ULTIMATELY HURTS POWER.

I'VE OFTEN THOUGHT OF BUYING A MATCHED SET (FLOW RATES ARE VERIFIED AS THE SAME) OF INJECTORS FROM SOMEONE LIKE LINGENFELTER ETC.

LOOKING FOR SOME FEEDBACK ON THIS ISSUE..

You can buy LS1 injectors apparently for fairly cheap.

Will LS1 injectors on a stock motor help any? I don't think so however I know nothing about injectors as far as modding goes.

I don't think the LS1 injectors will work, they look to be talller. Injectors off an LT1 would work though.
I use Accel's cheaper injectors, they are around $220 a set. Have had no problems with them in a few years of use.

Here we go again...

YES ls1 inj will work. So Will Lt1, Hell, So will just about all the production injectors out there.

NO stock inj are not junk

Merely Changing injectors from stock to something else of a differant flow rating is going to screw up your fueling signifigantly. You need at least a change to the PROM to Compensate.

There is no performance advantage in going to a larger injector on a stock engine unless you plan more extensive mods in the future wich will warrant the larger injectors.

The best bet for a set of high Milage L98 injectors would be www.cruzinperformance.com

Get em back for 80 bucks, good as new.

How much HP you think those L98 injectors can support?

You know the flow rates? I couldn't find 'em...

Not looking to increase the flow rate just be more uniform accross the board as far as flow rates. (and more reliable long term)

i got word years ago from a good gm tech friend of mine that they were indeed sh&% and he had seen many replaced.
