hello all i did a search but im not too sure what to search for but here goes.....

the 305 in my IROC is a SD system and also (from what i have read) has some sort of security system in the computer called VATS i think?? well i have a 350 tpi from an 87 im dropping in and i was wondering what i would have to modify in the wiring to get this tpi to work in my harness??? as far as the MAF sensor goes and also the vats? and also will eliminating the VATS mess up my collumn?? would i need a column from a NON-vats car??

 

I think youre doing it backwards.

It'd be easier to leave the wiring and all in the car, drop the 350 block and heads in there, bolt up your TPI setup, use the 350 injectors (if it has them anyway) and run a 350 chip in the computer. That way, you arent messing with the wiring at all, dont have to stick the MAF in there, or anything like that. Some people might suggest using a 350 knock sensor, but I havent found any problems with not doing that.

Nope both are center bolt heads

The intake will swap over fine
