vortec heads question

I am sure this has been covered before but I will ask anyway. I am a new here so please allow if I ask repeat questions. If anybody can direct me to some info I would greatly appreciate it. Anyway I have a set of 906 vortec heads I plan to install when I rebuild my engine. I understand the intake wont bolt up and I have to buy a $400 intake to make the tpi work. My questions are, could the heads be drilled and tapped by a machine shop in order to accept my stock intake? If so will the intake ports line up ( I ask this because I noticed on the vortec heads the intake ports seem to be at a slight angle) Would L98 aluminum vette heads be a better option? Also, how much should I expect the heads to knock off of my et if I were to just bolt them on without the rebuild?Running 14:30 now. I am consedering this option because I still have great oil pressure, burns no oil and the engine is as strong now as it was in 88.The car has been cared for extremely well. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Jerry,

If you do a generic search for "Vortec Heads" in the TPI forum, you will find all you need.
