Porting fuel injector area?

Has anyone ported the area just under where the injector sits in the intake. There is a hell of a lot of material that may be removed. It looks like doing this with increase area for a better spray pattern assuming you run high pressure for optimal atomizatin. Any opinions?
PS. This is a tpi setup

I don't know about a better spray pattern or anything, but I port matched the intake to a felpro 1205 to match my heads. Haven't had any problems with it.

Many times, the injector fires fuel into a closed port anyway, while the intake valve is shut.

I wouldnt bother.
