MiniRam Cam..?

I have heard that you need a Minimum LT4 hotcam for the miniram to make some decent power? but is there any other cams that go well with it? Will the ZZ4 CAM work.. I don't think to full potential... let me know what you Miniram freaks are running?
Oh ya I did a search aswell..

I just want to know what you guys are running and the times Hp and 1/4 mile times you are getting?

Thanks

with a miniram, you can run as big of a cam as you want.

IIRC, Glenn91L98GTA did a miniram swap while leaving a stock cam in the motor and still picked up pretty good.

I'm running a CC306 cam w/ my Mini Ram, might switch to a TPIS ZZX or 700-701 solid roller next year though. No #'s yet - in the process of a DFI to GM SD harness & #730 ECM at the moment.

Do a search for 11SEC91Z, Mini Rammed 383 w/ the ZZX cam running in the low 11's on drag radials.

If I had a MR or LT1 car, I'd use the CC306 for power and maybe an LT4 HOT cam if it is a daily driver.

I like this idea:

I just wonder if 8-10" of vacuum is enough.

You should go take a look at the LT1 cars one Camaroz28.com, since a miniram is quite similar to a LT1 intake. The searching I have done over there has shown that the CC305, XR276HR, and the CC306 are the most popular aftermarket cams. I am running the XR276HR in my stealth ram 350. Haven't gotten it on the road yet, but it does sound pretty healthy at idle.

The specs on the XR276HR is 224/230 .503/.510 112, I am not sure on the CC305 and CC306.

What's the rest of the engine like ? Heads, exhaust ect.. The cam's gotta work with what's under the hood. You have the ability to take it to valve float with a mini ram. Heads, Port work, and the ability to dump it out the back side are key points before the size of cam is picked. If you have what it takes than settle for nothing less than a LPE or a TPIS cam. These folks have devoted everything to our cause.
I chose my cam because I was planning on staying with a ported stock TPI set up and I like the torque charicteristics of it. Man does it rip. Now I have a stealthram and prom equipment in my garage with new 24lb injectors on the way. Not sure what the helk I'm gonna do now...

- 355ci, WS6, 5speed -
* Ported & Polished Big Valve Cylinder Heads (# 993 - 1972/73)
* 2.02 & 1.6 Manley Pro-Flo Valves
* Harland Sharp 1.6 Ratio Roller Rockers
* Crane Valve Springs and Retainers
* G.M.P.P. Ram Jet Roller Cam
* Crane Roller Lifters
* Speed Pro/TRW 1.25 Dome Forged Pistons
* Windage Tray
* Lightweight Nodular 16lb Flywheel

* Induction - Ported and Gasket Matched
Plentum
Manifold
Runners
52mm Holley Throttle Body
Custom Built Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
#19 GPH Injectors running at 50lbs

* Exhaust All New
Edlebrock Chrome T.E.S. Headers
High-Flow 3" Carsound Cat
Dynamax 3" Exhaust Tubing and Tail Pipes
Flowmaster American Thunder Muffler

Get a lotta crap about the heads, Lingenfelters recommends these stock cast heads in his book and they work.

I'm running a 230/245 CC cam on a 113LSA with the MiniRam and AFRs. I put down 364hp to the rear wheels. The setup is easily capable of 370. I'm running this through an automatic with a 3600 stall converter - so, to put it in perspective I would be looking at ~390rwhp if I had a manual in my car. Pretty darn good considering the motor has never been out of the car. It's the stock block that GM put in the car when it was sold new ... 13 years ago
